FSP Compliance Operations | Q2 2026
Q2 has started. Is your licence strategy on track?
April marks the start of the second quarter. For international firms with South Africa on their roadmap, the window to act is narrowing. FSCA processing timelines are holding steady, but the firms that submitted in Q1 are already months ahead.
If you are still in the planning phase, the time to move is now. Below, we cover what we are seeing in the market, what licences are available, and what your monthly SA compliance should actually cost.

What We Are Seeing
Three things shaping the SA market in April 2026
|
FSCA processing is active and moving
Applications submitted with complete documentation are progressing through the FSCA pipeline. The fit-and-proper assessments for Key Individuals remain the most common delay point. Firms that prepare their KI documentation in advance are seeing materially shorter timelines.
|
|
Crypto asset service providers face a hard deadline
The FSCA's CASP licensing framework is now fully operational. Firms providing crypto asset services to South African clients without an FSP licence are operating outside the law. We are seeing increased enquiries from UAE and European crypto firms who need to regularise their position urgently.
|
|
Monthly management costs are rising across the market
We are consistently hearing from firms that their current compliance service provider has increased fees without a corresponding increase in service quality. If you have not reviewed your monthly SA overhead in the last 12 months, you are likely overpaying.

Licence Availability
FSP licences across all five categories are available now
Benfeiv manages FSP licence applications for international firms across all FSCA licence categories. Whether you are an investment manager, forex broker, crypto asset service provider, or financial planning firm, we have the track record and the process to get you licensed.

Monthly Management Services
What does your South African compliance actually cost you each month?
Most firms we speak to do not have a clear answer to that question. They know they are paying something, but they are not sure exactly what they are getting for it, and they have not compared it to the market in years.
We offer a free, no-obligation quote on your monthly SA overhead. We will tell you what a properly managed FSP compliance programme should cost for your structure, and where you are likely overpaying.
|
"Most of our new monthly management clients come to us from another provider. They were paying more, getting less, and did not know it until they asked."
