Referral Partner Brief

For DIFC law firms, Big 4 Africa practices, and cross-border compliance consultancies whose clients require South African FSP licences.

Who We Are

Benfeiv is a South African compliance consultancy authorised by the FSCA. We work exclusively with international financial firms — asset managers, trading firms, crypto asset businesses, and financial intermediaries — that are entering the South African market.

Our core service is end-to-end FSP licence management: from initial assessment and documentation through to FSCA submission and ongoing compliance administration. We also supply Key Individuals and Compliance Officers as contracted professionals, which is the single most common barrier for foreign firms.

We have successfully completed over 20 FSP applications for firms from seven jurisdictions, including the UAE, UK, USA, China, and MENA. Our application success rate is 100%.

Why Refer

What Benfeiv Brings to Your Client

We Solve the KI Problem

The requirement for a locally resident, FSCA-approved Key Individual is the single biggest barrier for foreign firms. We supply KIs as contracted professionals, which means your client does not need to hire a full-time South African employee.

Realistic Timelines

We set honest expectations from the outset. The typical timeline is 5–7 months from first consultation to licence in hand. We do not over-promise to win business.

No Conflict of Interest

Benfeiv does FSP licensing and compliance only. We do not compete with your firm's legal, tax, or advisory services. We are a specialist, not a generalist.

The Arrangement

How a Referral Works

No Formal Agreement Required

A referral can be as simple as an introduction email. There is no requirement for a formal referral agreement before making an introduction.

Confidential Handling

All client information shared in the context of a referral is treated as strictly confidential. We will not contact your client directly without your knowledge.

Regular Status Updates

We keep you informed of the progress of any matter referred to us. You are not left in the dark after making an introduction.

Referral Arrangement

Where a formal referral arrangement is appropriate, we are open to discussing a referral fee structure. Contact us to discuss.
